Since being formed by Safdar Ashraf, Ashcott Solicitors has always prided itself on attracting the brightest and best criminal defence solicitors to add significant value to our clients’ cases. Safdar, or Saf as he is known has built his practice with the key philosophies of client care and dogged determination in fighting for his clients. In recruiting his team, Saf paid close attention to their individual merits and past case history. The solicitors that appear below, including Saf are time served, experienced criminal defence solicitors whose only aim is to defend the clients of Ashcott Solicitors to the very best of their abilities.

SAFDAR ASHRAF

Safdar is the head and founder of Ashcott Solicitors. From qualifying as a solicitor in 1999 Saf has specialised in crime and purely as a criminal defence solicitor.
Having completed his training through high profile criminal defence solicitors firms Saf quickly earned himself an envious reputation as a solicitor who would not back down and fight their clients corner from the start until the end.

In forming Ashcott Solicitors Saf was able to assemble the legal team that he always wanted and provide a tenacious criminal defence service that his clients’ truly appreciate.

WILLIAM SOUTHCOTT

William is a highly valuable member of the Ashcott Solicitors team and brings with him a wealth of experience in dealing with highly complex fraud experience.
Since being admitted as a solicitor in 1997 William has specialised in serious fraud related work which has seen him split his time between the UK and overseas in ensuring that his clients are well served no matter where they may be.

With an enviable skill for complicated legal issues, William is a key member of the Ashcott Solicitors team.

JOHN MORRIS

John has 35 years experience in the area of Criminal and regulatory Law having previously been a partner at a leading North West practice.

John was the lead solicitor in the Court of Appeal POCA case of R v Gibson which determined that the POCA provisions did not take primacy over the common law. The case is of great assistance to spouses who find their partners embroiled in POCA confiscation/enforcement proceedings.

John has also been involved in numerous high profile murder and other serious crime cases and is a well known and respected advocate in the Criminal Courts.

John is the head of the Magistrates’ Court Department.
